Wilbraham Police are testing the alert system to warn drivers of upcoming dangers

WHILBRAHAM, Mass. (WGGB/WSHM) – The Wilbraham Police Department is announcing a new way to alert drivers that a law enforcement officer is responding to an emergency and they should slow down and move over.

The department is now testing the HAAS Alerts Safety Cloud.

This service will provide drivers with real-time alerts when emergency services are stopped on the road ahead.

This alert will be automatically sent to drivers up to 30 seconds before emergency vehicles or road workers.

Alerts are accessible through Waze navigation and Apple Maps, compatible with mobile devices and integrated into the dashboard of many modern vehicles.
