Morgan Wallen’s criminal charges were reduced to misdemeanors ahead of Thursday’s plea hearing

Morgan Wallen is scheduled to enter a plea to the criminal charges against him Thursday afternoon.

Wallen is accused of throwing a chair from the sixth floor of a Broadway bar in April, nearly hitting a pair of police officers on the street below.

Judge Cynthia Chappell set a hearing Tuesday for Wallen to enter a plea Thursday at 12:45 p.m.

Wallen’s case was just moved from general sessions court to criminal court on Tuesday. Charges against Wallen were dropped during that move, court records show.

After his arrest, Wallen was charged with disorderly conduct, a misdemeanor, and three counts of reckless endangerment with a deadly weapon, a Class E felony, the lowest level of the offense. Wallen’s charges now consist of two misdemeanor counts of reckless endangerment without a weapon.

Wallen’s attorney, Worrick Robinson, did not respond to an email sent Wednesday afternoon.
