Former Sherwood High School student teacher sentenced to 3 years in prison; inappropriate conduct

Mason Isaiah Dominguez, 25, was sentenced Wednesday to three years in prison after pleading guilty to attempting to use a child to demonstrate sexually explicit behavior and two counts of enticing a minor.

“So this case involved Mason Dominguez, who at the time was a 23-year-old student at Sherwood High School. He was also an assistant high school football coach,” said Washington County Deputy District Attorney Rayne Meisel. “So he established online relationships with some of the female students at the high school, mostly sophomores and freshmen, and one of them who herself is against high school policy.”

The deputy district attorney and a parent at Sherwood High School tell KATU the school district handled everything correctly.

“Obviously, it’s sad, it’s troubling, it’s disheartening that we live in a world like this,” Sherwood High parent Alana Holbert said. “The school district has always been very diligent whenever they have to deal with something.”
