Man arrested for theft in New Madrid County

NEW MADRID COUNTY, Mo. (KFVS) – A Parma, Missouri man is accused of burglarizing multiple homes less than a month after he was arrested on the same charges.

According to the New Madrid County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were called to a reported burglary in Parma on Jan. 2. After gathering evidence at the scene, 30-year-old Telvin Hill was identified as a suspect.

He was found at a nearby home and arrested, then transported to the Mississippi County Jail.

According to the sheriff’s office, Hill had several pieces of jewelry on him that were identified as the items stolen from the victim. Deputies searched another home in Parma on Friday, Jan. 3 and found more stolen property.

Based on the recovered items, they were able to identify another victim who did not know their home had been broken into.

The sheriff’s office said in that incident, Hill entered the home through an unlocked window while the victim was sleeping in the next room.

Authorities believe Hill may have targeted vacant homes as well as homes with elderly residents.

Hill has been charged in connection with both thefts and is being held without bail.

He was arrested for a similar incident in Parma in December 2024.

The sheriff’s office noted that they still have more unidentified jewelry and other stolen items. If you believe you have been the victim of a burglary and have missing items, contact the sheriff’s office at (573) 748-2516.
