4 dead, 2 wounded, when the vehicle fell in the Arunachal gorge: Police

Silchar: Four inhabitants of ASSAM died, and two others were injured, after a Scorpio car in which they were traveling and fell on Sunday night on a ring hill in Arunachal Pradesh, the police said.

The bodies were recovered on Monday. The four deceased people include the vehicle driver.

The superintendent of Police Roing (SP), Ringu Nguupok, said that the last corpse was recovered on Monday afternoon and that the police sent for the post-mortem.

SP said that six members of two families in the Galaghat District of Assam went to the Mayodia of Arunachal Pradesh for a vacation and that they were returning home on Sunday when the incident was produced.

“We were informed about the incident around 6:00 pm yesterday (Sunday) and a rescue operation was launched immediately,” he said.

“There is a road construction site in Roing and the vehicle plunged into a deep forest after leaving the road near that place. It is suspected that the vehicle has lost control and has fallen into a deep gorge, and we are investigating the case, “said SP for HT.

Died, they were identified as Manoj Chetri, Ranjit Chetri, Meena Chetri and Suraj Chetri. Manoj Chetri was driving the vehicle, and his body was recovered on Monday morning.

According to officials, a 10 -year -old girl Rasni Chery and a woman named Harimaya Chery were saved with serious injuries and were sent to Dibrugarh for treatment.

“The family members of the deceased people were called and some of them arrived here. One of the four bodies was handed over, and the other three will be handed over after we finish the necessary investigation, ”said one official.
