A lot of about 200 people participated in the competition, and Lim’s actions disrupted the event for about 10 minutes. She had to be escorted from the place.

A previous incident of February 2023 involved him by pushing a man who thought he scratched his nephew’s nose.

On February 2, 2023, Lim and other family members were at a cafe at Waterway Ridge, an HDB property in Punggol. The victim, a distant acquaintance of the family, was there too.

The victim offered to wear the five-month-old Lim’s nephew. He wore the child as he queue for food in front of Lim’s family and also after he joined Lim’s family.

Later that evening, Lim saw a scratch on the child’s nose and thought the man caused her.

Research has shown that there is no evidence that the victim caused scratching, said Mrs. Tin.

The next morning, Lim faced the victim at the cafe and pushed him five times before leaving.

Lim’s lawyer, Nichol Yeo, said he could make the voluntary refund for half of the damages to the lion dance suit, after sharing the amount with her husband.

He told the court that Lim committed the crimes while he is “extremely frustrated” and at a “moment of madness” and was a remorse.

He said that Lim went to look for his son at the community center when he did not raise phone calls.

As for the use of criminal force to push the man, Mr. Yeo said that Lim did this because she was worried about her nephew.
