The girl was found guilty of attempted murder of two teachers and student at school

A 14 -year -old school was found guilty of attempted murder after attacked two teachers and another student at a South Wales school.

Teachers Fiona Elias and Liz Hopkin, and a student, were treated in the hospital after being stabbed at Ysgol Dyffryn Aman in Ammanford, Carmarthenshire, on April 24 last year.

Following a one -week trial at Swansea Crown Court, the girl, who cannot be named for legal reasons, was found guilty by attempted murder.

Judge Paul Thomas Kc thanked the jury for the work done in a “difficult and unusual” process.

“At the end of the day, if he were not a 14 -year -old girl and she was an adult, the result would most likely have been a life sentence,” he said.

The judge said he would postpone the conviction until April 28 for the preparation of pre-sent reports, including a psychology report.

Addressing the defendant, the judge said: “Today I will not pass the sentence.

“I have to think about it and need prepared reports on you.

“I will not be able to pass the sentence until April 28.

“I’m sorry it’s so far away in the future but I have to understand it correctly.”

The previous girl pleaded guilty for three charges of wounds with intent and an additional number of holding a Lamad article in school spaces – but denied the attempt to kill.

While the girl, who was a student at school, attacked her the first teacher, was accused of shouting “I’m going to kill you” and remove a knife.

The jury also heard that he told friends that he would “do something stupid to be able to expel me” that could involve Mrs. Elias on the day of the attack.

After she was arrested, the girl made a series of unsolicited comments behind a police vehicle, telling the officers “I stabbed -o – oopsi”.

“I’m pretty sure this will be in the news, so more eyes will be looked at,” she said.

“This is a way to be a celebrity.”

She also asked: “I’m dead” and “how will I face my family after I did?”

The drawings found in her house referred to Mrs. Elias and the girl she attacked, with a note saying that the girl will “burn” and another “cut their mouths and eyes”.

During the trial, the girl told the jurors that she is sorry for the incident and can not remember large parts of what happened.

“It doesn’t sound like me. He doesn’t feel like something I would do, “she said.

Swansea Crown Court heard the teenager, who was 13 years old at the time of the incident, attacked the teacher Mrs. Elias during the morning break, using her father’s multi-instant.

Mrs. Hopkin came to aid, trying to prevent the girl, but was injured alone, receiving throat, back and legs.

The teenager then passed to stab another girl before being detained by staff.

All three victims survived the attack, but Mrs. Hopkin, who was stabbed in the throat, had to be transported to Cardiff by Air Ambulance.

The superintendent of the detective, Ross Evans, Dyfed-Powys, said: “This was an incredibly disturbing incident, which not only led to the physical affect of three people, but had a profound impact on the welfare of students who were present at the time.

“We wish them well, because they continue to recover from an incident they should never be witnesses at such young age.

“The school should be a safe place, a sanctuary for the students who participate, and the weapons do not take place in their reasons.

“We will not tolerate any attempt to compromise the safety of children or staff and, as it has been shown here, we will act quickly on the very rare occasion in which they are at risk.”

He thanked the emergency colleagues and staff at Ygoll Dyffryn Aman for the way they took care of this incident and for the local community for the support they offered to students at school.

“Now that the criminal procedures have ended, please leave life at Dyffryn Aman to return to normal, so that students and staff can focus on their education,” he added.
