The theft suspect appoints a Sheriff from Colorado in search of a HHIS truck, which was towed as evidence – Oakland Press

A man was arrested in Douglas County last week, after accidentally snatched himself in a burglary case in Castle Rock, according to the sheriff’s office.

Just before midnight, Wednesday, Douglas County deputies responded to the reports of a steel at a house under construction on the background street in Castle Rock, Sheriff’s officials said.

Witnesses told investigators that a man, who was not publicly identified, took the timber from the house and hid in the house when they shouted at him, the sheriff’s officials said.

Although the deputies searched the area with drones and police dogs and failed to find the man, and found the truck parked in front of the site and towed him as proof, according to the sheriff’s office.

A few hours later, around 4:30, on Thursday, the man called 911 in search of his truck and told the dispatchers where he was, the sheriff’s officials said.
