Fire at East Greenwich Funeral Home considered accidental

East Greenwich, Ri (WPRI) – Cause Fire that broke out at a historical funeral In the east Greenwich was determined to be accidental, according to Matthew Touchete, a spokesman for the State Fire Office.

The crews were called to the Hill-Skeffington funeral home and the creams around 4 in the morning for fire reports coming from the building.

Significant damages were observed on the roof and on the second floor, as well as water damage on the first floor.

Touchete said that investigators have established that the fire started in the area of ​​the fireplace and the basket.

The funeral home has been part of the East Greenwich community since the 1800s.

“We are unleashed by the devastation caused by this accidental fire,” said the president and owner of the funeral house, John Skeffington.
