Photo with the kindness of Casey Winter Casey Winter, presented with daughters Vi’Vienne Vera-Winter and Zophiana Vera-Winter, said that her family members are still recovering after Zophiana, was seriously injured by dogs on January 25th. Zophiana has undergone surgery for bite on the arm, legs and ear. Recently, accusations were filed at the Lyon District Court against the dog owner.

A 6 -year -old girl who was seriously injured by dogs in January recovered, her mother said this week.

But while their family’s life begins to return to a routine, said Casey Winter, it can still be a fight.

“We do our best with what we have. We try to remain positive by all this, ”” said in winter, a minnesota resident

Winter said her daughter Zophiana Vera-Winter started returning to ordinary activities such as going to school. Zophiana suffered surgery for wounds in the arm, legs and ear, after being bitten by three dogs on January 25th.

“I am very proud of how well they do,” He said in winter. At the same time the family was still passing “UPS and Descents” she said.

Last week, the charges of crime were filed with the Lyon District Court against Katrina Marie Davis, 44 years old, the owner of the dogs who attacked Zophiana. The judicial documents said that the city of Minneota took the custody of two of the dogs, to go further with an order to destroy them. The two dogs had been declared dangerous by the city of Minneota.

A third dog, who was declared dangerous by the city of Ghent, was still under arrest, said Lyon County Eric Wallen.

Winter said Zophiana and her Vi’Vienne sister were in the care of a babysitter at the time of the dog’s attack. The woman following the two girls was not the usual babysitter of winter, she said.

The dog attack happened in a residence Ghent, where Davis lived.

Winter said that Zophiana wounds were not the only result of dog attack. There was also an emotional effect.

“My daughter who saw him, struggles with her. I fight a lot with this ” He said in winter.

In winter he said that as he returns to work, “I really fight with them going to a babysitter.”

After the dog’s attack, Winter said he cut off contact with the babysitter following the girls.

Another thing that was difficult on the dog attack was that Zophiana liked dogs, and some of their friends and family members, Winter said.

“I had the conversation about how not all the dogs are good”, she said.

Winter said her family is looking at resources to help them advance. She said she was also waiting to see if Zophiana might need future surgery to help scars.

Last week, accusations of crimes of crime of substantial bodily injury were filed by a dog against Davis at the Lyon District Court. A hearing in case is scheduled for March 5.

A criminal complaint claims that Davis’s three pitches have attacked a child and caused more bite injuries. The attack took place at a residence in Ghent, where Davis lived.

“I think it is appropriate” Winter said the criminal charges were filed after the attack. “There are not many things that can compensate for this, but I feel that someone should be held accountable.”

Davis has two convictions of the past crimes for dogs that generally run, according to judicial documents in Lyon district. These complaints were filed in 2021 and 2022. In one of these incidents, two of Davis’s dogs hurt another dog in Minneota, causing over $ 700 in veterinary invoices, the court records. In a civil action filed in 2022, a judge of the court in the Lyon district granted the authority to apply an order to destroy the two dogs, the judicial documents said.

The judgments of Lyon County have shown that there are currently two other open -judged courts involving Davis. Last year, she was accused of threats of violence and disordered conduct for threatening the administrator of Lyon County. Once pre-process hearing in this case is set for March 28. The other in progress of Davis is a petition for civil commitment due to mental illness.

In the criminal complaint for the dog’s attack, Davis was described that it makes no sense when he spoke with a deputy of Lyon County. The complaint claimed to tell the law enforcement forces that the injured child was “false.”
