The Court of Appeal supports the federal condemnation of Anton’s sex traffic “Tony” Lazzaro

Anton “Tony” Lazzaro, the donor and the political strategist found guilty of sex trafficking in Minnesota in 2023, lost an appeal of his conviction.

The Court of Appeal of 8 -The circuit issued the decision on Tuesday, asserting the jury verdict, as well as a handful of decisions given by the chief judge Patrick J. Schiltz, who chaired the trial.

Lazzaro, nicknamed “Jeffrey Epstein from Minnesota” by federal prosecutors, is currently the execution of a penalty of 21 years at the federal prison of the state of tiles.

Prosecutors claimed that 33 years ago he used his wealth and political status to attract five minor victims to his condominium, where he paid them for sex. He gave them money, vapors and other articles.

In his call, Lazzaro argued that the federal sex traffic status on which he was accused was “vague unconstitutional” and that the process was “infected with the prosecutor and the conduct of jurors.”

Lazzaro’s appeal also focused on several judgments of Judge Schiltz, including a motion for a myistial, after Lazzaro claimed that the use of the prosecutor of the “minor” term to describe the victims harmed the jury.

The judges of the circuit court concluded that there is sufficient evidence to support the convictions and that the district court has not mistaken in its decisions.

Daniel Gerdts, Lazzaro’s lawyer, has still returned a message requesting comments on the court’s decision.

Lazzaro’s indictment in 2021 shook the Republican Party of Minnesota. Lazzaro donated thousands of dollars in the party campaign cash and various candidates. Controversy has led to Resignation of the then president Jennifer Carnahan.
