The NJ man acknowledges that he tried to suffocate teen during the sexual assault attempt, say officials

A man from Hunterdon County said guilty on Monday for charges of sexual assault for sending sexually explicit text messages and tried to suffocate a teenager during an attempt to sexually, said Hunterdon County Prosecutor.

Daniel E. White, 54 years old, from Flemington was guilty of Sexual Leisure Recreation and Sexual Abuse Materials on Children in exchange for a 10 -year prison sentence, authorities said on Wednesday.

White was accused in June 2024, after calling the authorities to report that he had committed crimes, the police wrote in a probable statement for his arrest.

During an interview with the police, the man acknowledged that he sent the teenager, sexual requests in text messages and tried to molest it, the judicial documents shows.

He acknowledged that he sent text messages that request sexual activities and asked him to “meet in the middle”, a reference perceived to compromises to his sexual requests, the loading documents shows.

White also acknowledged that he tried to sexually assault the teenager a year earlier in 2020, according to a probable statement.

In September 2020, White acknowledged that he tried to strangle the teenager to reassure him, so he could sexually assault, the police wrote in the accused documents.

In an interview, the teenager confirmed the man’s account and told the police that he had endeavored to breathe and thought he would be sexually attached, according to a probable statement.

White must serve at least 85% of the sentence before being eligible for conditional freedom and must register as a sexual offender in accordance with Megan’s law.

He must also undergo psychological evaluations and respect the resulting recommendations, the authorities said.

White is scheduled to be convicted on June 6, 2025.

A Defense lawyer for White did not respond immediately to a comment request.
