POPS ID SUSPECT OF PURCHASE FIND AFTER INCID

Just before lunch, Paramus police responded to a theft in relation to Target, according to the Paramus Police Chief, Robert M. Guidetti. Suspects, later identified as Tuwana Grant-Harrison, 32, and Christopher White, 47, both from Paterson, fled the stage in a Nissan Negru before the police arrival, he said.

Officer Diego Cruz noticed the suspected vehicle on Forest Avenue and Howland Avenue and tried to pull it. However, White, the driver, refused to stop and went to the north, Guidtti said. Officer Cruz did not follow the vehicle, but lost sight of when he entered Oradell, then later Paramus returned near East Ridgewood Avenue, he said.

Shortly after, the police received a 911 call about a Nissan that collapses in a tree on Burlington Road, Guidtti said. Officer Cruz replied and found on Grant-Harrison sitting on a lawn, while White ran on the floor, according to the police.

A search was launched, and Lt. Matt Parrello and the officer of emergency units, Matt Orefice, found the white hidden in Van Saun Mill Brook, submerged in 12 centimeters of frozen water, in an attempt to evade arrest, the police said. Both suspects were arrested and charged.

Grant-Harrison was accused of shopping by changing tickets and received a court date of March 14, 2025, at 8:30 AM, Guidetti said.

White is facing multiple allegations, including shopping, police circumvention, arrest resistance, MDMA (Ecstasy) and holding stolen credit cards, authorities said. He remains in arrest while waiting for a judicial occurrence.
