Thiensville woman, children spend 10 hours in bitter cold after they ran out of police

Thiensville, Wis. A woman from Thiensville is experiencing several accusations, including physical abuse of a child, neglecting the child and battery, after prosecutors say that she and her children spent 10 hours during 0 degrees.

Angelica Saragosa, 47, was accused of the following:

  • Two accusations of physical abuse of a child – recklessly causing bodily injury by conduct that creates a high probability of great bodily evil
  • Two accusations of neglect of a child – the consequence is a bodily evil
  • A duties battery number
  • Three charges of leaping bail for crime

The incident happened around 8:30 pm near Crescent Lane and Oakwood Drive in Thiensville.

According to a criminal complaint, Saragosa struck the lover, with whom he lived in the house with his father and his two children, repeatedly in front, causing a laceration on the upper lip and temporarily losing his sight in the left eye.

Then the prosecutors say that the victim’s father called the police, causing Saragosa to take his children and run out of the house.

A search was launched, involving several law enforcement agencies, after the respondent officer could not locate the children or Saragosa.

Search lasted hours, prosecutors saying that the weather at that time was 0 Fahrenheit ranks between midnight and 8 in the morning

Saragosa arrested

The police arrested Saragosa at the house of a good Samaritan, after the owner of the house called the police and said he left the woman and her children that morning. Saragosa told the owner that they were out all night.

The officer observed the children who trembled uncontrolled and inappropriately dressed for the weather. One of the children did not answer when he spoke, trembling uncontrollably, with completely wet pants and shoes and a smell of urine, according to the complaint.

The other child, a 5-year-old girl, was observed by spilling snacks from a snacking bag because of her severe tremor. The children were taken to the hospital for medical treatment for an extremely low body temperature and carbon monoxide exposure.

Saragosa told the police that she and her children were out in the last 10 hours and had passed through the courts and hid it until she “heard the police” before returning outside her lover and curled near the oven evacuation.

The children remained hospitalized as at the drafting of the criminal complaint, which was filed on February 21.

On bail at the time of incident

According to the complaint, at the time of the incident, Saragosa was on bail after being accused by an offense of disorderly conduct and domestic abuse and was issued from arrest, as he had no contact with his lover and that he had to maintain absolute sobriety and no new crime.

What follows

It is scheduled for a status hearing on March 13. Its obligation is established at $ 100,000, according to judicial documents.
