Microsoft is out of hackers behind the instruments to bypass the generator of Guardrails

Microsoft Corp. He said he identified the US and over the seas criminal hackers, who bypassed the protection of guards on generative artificial intelligence tools-including the company’s azure services-to generate harmful content, including unconsessual intimate images and other sexually explicit content.

Hackers have scraped customer authentifications from public sources and used them to access generative services, including Azure Openai, the Microsoft Cloud product that allows customers to use OPENAI, according to the company. Then, hackers changed the capabilities of AI products and sold access to other malicious groups, providing instructions on how to create harmful content.

Hackers identified by Microsoft are based in Iran, UK, Hong Kong and Vietnam. It is assumed to be part of a global cyber network that Microsoft calls Storm-2139. Two other members are located in Florida and Illinois, but Microsoft said he does not name them to avoid derailment of criminal investigations. The software manufacturer said he is preparing criminal references to the US and foreign law enforcement.

The action comes as the increasing popularity of generative instruments favors concerns about their wrong use to generate forged illicit images of public and ordinary persons, as well as to create sexual abuse materials. Companies such as Microsoft and Openai prohibit such behavior and do technological measures to block it, but malicious groups can try to get unauthorized access.
