Travis Hunter wants to play 100% of the snapshots on both sides: “I’m just different”

Travis Hunter, the two-way star from Colorado, has the potential to excel as a wide corner or receiver in the NFL, but if he had it, he will play both full-time positions.

While talking on Thursday with NFL Scouting Reporters Combine in Indianapolis, Hunter was asked if he prefers to play most of his snapshots about offense or defense and he told reporters“I want to play 100 percent (on both sides of the ball), but it depends on the organization.”

Of course, no player in NFL history has ever played full -time on both sides of the ball. When he was asked about those who question his ability to reach his goal, Hunter said boldly: “I’m just different.”

The winner of the 2024 Heisman trophy, Hunter produced 92 catches for 1,152 meters and 14 touchdows, with a hurried touchdown on offense, while adding 32 approaches, 11 defended passes, four interceptions and a fum forced in its last year with Buffaloes. He also became the first player in the history of university football that won both the Chuck Bednarik award, who is awarded to the best defensive player of the nation and the Fred Busnikoff award, which is granted to the best receiver of the nation.

Hunter did not face the level of competition in the college that he will do in the NFL, so that he faces some challenges as he passes on a professional level. However, the 21-year-old is confident in his ability to demonstrate that he can effectively play both sides of the ball, so that the team will have to use his skills to take out his best in him.
