Summit County Suspect Suspect Accused by Felon in possession of a firearm

Salt Lake City – A Venezuelan national was charged with a large federal jury in Salt Lake City, on the charges of firearms, following an alleged shooting incident in Summit County, Utah.

Manuel A. Pimitel-Gonzalez, 24, from Eagle Mountain, Utah, was initially accused of complaint on February 21, 2025. According to judicial documents, the accusation comes from a dispute to a part of May 19, 2024, at a rural property in Summit County. Security films in the incident would have captured Pimitel-Gonzalez who took over a firearm from a BMW X7 SUV parked before shouting profane in Spanish. Moments later, several firearms were heard.

Investigators recovered at least 42 shell housings, four firearms and several vehicles with on -site bullet damages. A later search warrant executed in Eagle Mountain led law enforcement to a white BMW SUV with dams. Also, the authorities found pimpimel-gonzalez suffering from a shot wound that he tried to treat. A Draco 92 9 × 19 mm firearm with a wooden feature was confiscated and later related to the shell housings found at the Summit county shooting scene.

At the time of the incident, Pimitel-Gonzalez was in the trial for a previous state conviction related to the possession of firearms by a restricted person. Now he has been accused of being a kind of possession of a firearm and ammunition. Its initial appearance in the indictment has not yet been scheduled before an American magistrate judge at the Salt Lake City Salt Tribunal.

American lawyer Felice John Viti from Utah’s district announced the indictment. An officer of the ATF work group allocated to the Utah Correction Department is investigating the case.

The US Prosecutor’s Office for District Utah follows the case as part of the neighborohoods, a national initiative aimed at reducing the violence of weapons and violent crime through the collaboration between law enforcement and community organizations.

An accusation is an accusation and all the defendants are supposed to be innocent until they are proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court.
