Stone Co. Man shot twice with a rifle; Suspicious of a shooter in arrest

Stone Co., Miss. (Wlox) -A man from Stone County is struggling for his life in a hospital, while another man is in arrest because he was shot, said the Sheriff in Stone County, Todd Stewart, for Wlox News on Wednesday night.

Both the victim and the suspect are adults, said Sheriff Stewart. The victim is 50 years old, and the suspect is about 40 years old.

According to investigators, Wednesday morning shooting was the result of an argument between two men at the victim’s house located on Hartfield Road.

A few hours after the initial argument, the investigators believe that the suspect returned to the victim’s house with a rifle and pulled to him, hitting him in his throat and once in the back. Since then, the victim has been taken to General Forrest Hospital in Hattiesburg and is listed in critical condition.

On Wednesday night, the deputies carry out a search warrant on the suspect’s house located on Sweet Buelah Road, just a distance of filming.

The suspect was arrested without incident.
