An angry Shrewsbury nightclub man who left his victim permanently scarred after an accidental punch on the dance floor has been ordered to pay £12,000 in damages

Father-of-one Ashley Davies, 30, head-butted his victim in Albert’s shed, Shrewsbury after accidentally bumping into each other on the dance floor.

He was shown CCTV footage Shrewsbury Crown Court of Davies, who works as a chicken catcher and lives with his grandmother, violently swinging his arms before being dragged out by bouncers on October 8, 2022.

The court was told that a police officer saw Davies being thrown from the Barker Street club shortly before midnight and chased him.

Davies was arrested outside The Buttermarket in Howard Street and told officers: “If you’re going to start something, you’d better be able to finish it. I don’t give a fuck, send me to prison. Been there and done that.”

The victim suffered a laceration to the right side of his forehead, bruising to his left eye and a broken nose that had to be reattached. He was taken to Royal Shrewsbury Hospital for treatment which included stitches and ‘manipulation’ of his broken nose.
