A brutal thief who used the Gay Grindr meeting app to find victims was hit with another sentence, it can reveal the Irish sun.

Michael Quinn, 24 years old, is already serving 8 and a half years to hold a captive victim, attack and two charges of robbery.

But Quinn received another three -year term at Dublin Circuit Yard Earlier this month, after admitting another man’s thief on June 10, 2018.

The Thug, from Cara Close in Coolock to the north DublinIt is classified by the Court as having a “inclination for violence”.

A source told The Irish Sun: “When Quinn was under the influence of drugs and alcohol, it was extremely dangerous.

“He targeted men when they were on their own and terrified them with extreme levels violence.

“The fact that he received such strong sentences shows how dangerous he is.”

The victim was at night in Dublin, when Quinn’s associate, Thomas ‘Baldy’ McDonagh, 36, stole his mobile phone.

But the pair, along with another friend, later confronted with the man who asked for his phone back.

During the incident, Quinn cried: “You know who you have to do” before hitting the man in front.

He suffered a swollen face and a broken tooth in the vicious attack.

While the robbers fled, one of the victim’s friends followed and gave a description Gardaii.

Were arrested on Grafton Street shortly later by SGT Chris Jones, who was based on Pears Street Crime Unit.

When asked, Quinn, who has 33 previous convictions, said he found the device.

But Gardai obtained the access code of the stolen phone and could unlock it to prove that it belongs to the victim.

McDonagh was closed for two years on May 16, 2022.
