Balch Springs, Texas (KTVT)-a small memorial and a sense of sadness remain outside the Texas house, where a 19-year-old woman with autism was found dead on Valentine’s Day.

The police say he found Delilah Villegas, 19 years old, who had autism and was nonverbal, died on February 14th inside a Balk Springs house.

Investigators say her mother, Crystal Canales, called 911 that after -to report that her daughter had trouble breathing. When the officers arrived, they smelled something bad coming from Villegas’s bedroom and found it dead in an almost fetal position.

The medical staff has established that Villegas died of at least six and possibly up to 24 hours. After a closer examination, the authorities discovered signs of severe malnutrition, multiple wounds and bones on the victim’s body.

“They thought he was probably 13 years old and did not realize that he was 19 years old. It was, as described, the skin to the bone. There were great lacerations that exposed decomposing limbs, ”said Officer Balch Springs, Pedro Gonzalez, at a press conference on Saturday. “He looked as if he were in a mummified state on the floor.”

Asked about the wounds of Villegas, Canales said she does not request medical care for her daughter. The detectives concluded that the mother’s failure to do this was probably a reckless conduct, which led to serious bodily injury to a person with disabilities a second-degree crime. Investigators say that Villegas’s grandmother and ancestor uncle also live in the Balch Springs. Grandma claimed that she did not see the 19 -year -old in a few weeks, and the great uncle claimed that she will not be seen for a year, according to a probable statement.

In addition, a woman who did not want to identify common photos of Villegas. She says that her daughter went to school with the young woman, and she often saw her from 2014 by 2020. Because she had not seen her in almost five years, she assumed that the family had moved.
