The new ecological initiatives in Bucharest: Educational Park Space, Dâmbovița River project Safe Financing

The Bucharest Community Foundation has announced funding for two new projects aimed at improving climatic resistance in the Romanian capital by implementing sustainable ecological solutions to improve urban infrastructure and environmental quality. The projects were selected by the sixth round of the Environmental Platform for the Bucharest initiative.

From 16 eligible proposals, the jury has chosen to finance projects run by the Association of Văcărești Natural Park and Nod Makerspace, both promising that they will have a significant impact on the urban environment of the city and the resistance of the local community.

Foundation allocated RON 256,500 for Dâmbovița freshwater – the landscape of Timpuri Noi/Dâmbovița Fresh Water – Timpuri Noi dock Project and Ron 243,500 for Green solutions for the children’s world/Green Solutions for the Children’s World initiative.

Văcărești Natural Park Association will implement Green solutions for the children’s world Project in the world of Park children, creating an innovative educational space based on nature -based solutions. The initiative will focus on the reuse of rainwater by developing a plowing water collection garden and a pond to support the sustainable biodiversity and management.

The project will also set up a climatic park with themed routes, urban meadows and community activities, while organizing at least ten educational and voluntary programs to promote the best environmental practices among children and residents.

Meanwhile, node makerspace Dâmbovița Sweet Water – Timpuri New Dock The project is part of a wider effort to revitalize the Dâmbovița river. The initiative will turn an abandoned space along the river bank into an accessible, functional and sustainable public area.

Plans include creating a relaxation space with water access and sustainable lighting, organizing over ten events has focused on climate resilience – including debates, cultural programs and sports activities the role in urban climate adaptation.
