Canada and UNODC strengthen Pakistan’s security through strategic partnerships

Through a series of strategic initiatives and high-level commitments in Karachi and Islamabad, this collaboration emphasizes the strong and lasting partnership between Pakistan, Canada and UNODC. Handing over the advanced body scanning ceremony to Airports Security Force – Karachi

In a significant step towards strengthening the security of Pakistan aviation, UNODC and Canada’s government have officially taught one of several advanced 360-degree bodies to the Pakistan airport security force (ASF). These scanners, which would be installed at major airports, will improve passenger screening processes, preventing smuggling of illicit goods and strengthening border security.

At the formal ceremony that took place at the ASF Center in Karachi, General Adnan Asif Jah Shad, the general manager of ASF, received the equipment, emphasizing his role in modernizing security operations. The representative of the country UNODC, Mr. Troels Vester, stressed the long -term impact of this initiative, reaffirming the UNODC and Canada commitment to aviation security and the management of the Border in Pakistan.

Inauguration of an Elearning Center at CTD Sindh – Karachi Police

This facility offers the law enforcement personnel access to over 150 specialized training modules, which cover critical topics, such as: terrorism fighting strategies, computer investigations and preventing violent

Speaking at the event, the additional police general inspector (IGP) Sindh, Mr. Muzaffar Ali Shaikh, stressed the role of digital learning in equipping the law officers with essential investigation and operational skills. The High Commissioner of Canada acknowledged the contributions of the Sindh police in approaching the threats of terrorism in Karachi and emphasized the importance of training the first line officials to remain before the evolution of security threats.

Modernization of the judicial system of Pakistan – Launch of the Case Assignment and Management System (CASS) – Islamabad

In Islamabad, UNODC, in partnership with the Ministry of Law and the justice of Pakistan and the Government of Canada, has launched the system of assignment and management of cases (cams) – a transformer digital solution designed to modernize dispute management, to make cases and improve transparency in judicial processes.

The key objectives of the cams include: improving efficiency in the management of legal cases, strengthening the coordination between government ministries and law officers and ensuring the timely elimination and reducing administrative delays.

The launch of cams marks a landmark in judicial government, emphasizing a common commitment to use technology for a more transparent and efficient legal system.

During the launch ceremony, the honorable Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif mentioned that this was delayed, and through the efficiency of the system, it will directly improve the provision of services to citizens from all over the country.
