A British politician is accused of taking bribes to stimulate Russia’s agenda in Ukraine

London (AP)-a British right-wing politician has been accused of accepting bribe to make favorable statements about Russia in the European Parliament.

Nathan Gill, 51, appeared on a London Tribunal Monday. He did not introduce a plea to eight accusations of bribery and a conspiracy number for committing bribes.

Prosecutors say that Gill, a former member of the European Union Legislature, who also led The UK reform The party in Wales was charged with former Ukrainian politician Oleg Voloshyn on at least eight occasions to make statements in exchange for money.

The prosecutor’s lawyer, Richard Link, said that Gill made statements in the European Parliament and opinion pieces at the news stores that “supported a certain narrative” that would “benefit from Russia on events in Ukraine.”

The crimes were assumed between 2018 and 2020. Gill was stopped at Manchester airport on September 13, 2021 in accordance with British terrorism combating laws and after an investigation last week.

Gill spoke only to confirm her name, birth date and address when she appeared through the video link at Westminster Magistrates’ Court. He was released on bail until his next appearance in court on March 14th.

Gill was elected in the European Parliament in 2014 for the Anti-Eu Party of Independence in the United Kingdom, and later represented the Brexit party. Remained in the legislature to the UK left the European Union in 2020.

He led the Welsh Branch of the successor of the Brexit party Reform in the United Kingdom during the 2021 elections in Wales, but is no longer a member, the party said.
