Corpus Christi massage institution has closed human trafficking concerns

Corpus Christi, TX – a massage unit in Falot Bluff was ordered to close its doors for six months following an emergency closure issued by the Licensing Department and Regulation (TDLR) in Texas, against some suspects human trafficking activities.

The emergency closure order, starting with February 18, 2025, was issued to V Massage, located at 9925 South Padre Island Drive.

That business, owned by Kiet Tham Ho and operated under V health LLC, is now forbidden to provide massage services in this location throughout the order, according to a press release of the TDLR.

The stop follows an undercover operation of November 2024 by the Police Department of Corpus Christi, which led to the arrest of a massage therapist under charges of prostitution.

According to the statement, during an inspection of the installation, the police discovered evidence in accordance with the prohibited commercial sexual services according to the Texas law, including indications that people were living at the headquarters. Investigators also discovered that the unit has advertised the web sites known for illicit services.

The closure was executed in accordance with the draft Law 3579, the legislation authorized by the representative Brian Bumgarner and the Senator Phil King who entered into force on September 1, 2023. The law grants the authority of the executive director of the TDLR to issue emergency closing orders for units of units. Massage when trafficking in persons is suspected by law enforcement or regulators.

This is the 20th emergency order issued by TDLR from the implementation of the law.

TDLR told Kris 6 News that this is the first emergency order issued in Corpus Christi in accordance with the draft law 3579.

For immediate emergency situations, the authorities recommend that they resort to 911. Complaints about the companies regulated by TDLR suspected of involving in the trafficking of persons can also be submitted through the official channels of the department.
