Hackensack Man accused in shooting makes an appearance in court – brainerd dispatched

Walker-a 47-year-old Hackensack man accused of shooting another man from Powers Township made a court on Monday, February 24, at the CASS District Court.

Derrick Norman Kading was accused of multiple crimes, including a second degree attack with a dangerous weapon and a kind of convicted in possession of a firearm and ammunition, along with serious crimes that did not give help to a victim of the shot.

It is a second judicial appearance for cases of crime and serious crimes to inform the defendant about their rights and to allow them to plead.

Kading has registered a $ 300 bail on February 18 and is no longer under arrest. His next court hearing at the CASS County District Court is March 24.

According to judicial documents, law enforcement forces responded to a 34-year-old Pine River report was shot in the stomach while leaving a passenger vehicle in the Backus area and was transported to a hospital by air care. The suspect was identified as Kading.

The investigators spoke with Kading and read Miranda’s warning. Kading initially requested a lawyer before advising investigators that he wants to talk to them. The investigators made sure that he was aware of his rights Miranda and tried to contact a lawyer identified without luck. Kading then proceeded to talk to investigators.

Kading acknowledged that it was at the residence when an altercation took place. He acknowledged that he had a firearm and shot the victim in his stomach with a .45 caliber pistol and placed the gun in his truck. Kading also acknowledged that he did not give help.

The investigators noted that the shooters were witnesses and one noticed that he was kading with the firearm after the blow was pulled and thought he noticed that Kading had placed it in his truck.

The investigators performed a search warrant on a 2001 Chevrolet Silverado Kading when it was located by law enforcement. The ammunition was located in a stitch between the tonne lid and a box of tools in the truck bed. A Springfield Armory XD45 pistol was placed in the toolbox.

A magazine containing nine rounds of ammunition was under firearm. It was observed the blood apparently on the bottom plate of the magazine and on both sides of the firearms.

In January 2004, Kading SA declared guilty for the second -degree burglary, a crime of violence, and on April 5, 2004, he was sentenced to a taxation for a period of 10 years.
