Emergency crews are responding to the structure fire on Bairdcrest Road

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WGGB/WSHM) – Emergency crews responded to a structure fire on Bairdcrest Road Sunday evening.

Upon arrival, they witnessed a fire on the exterior of the building, which had begun to spread toward the bridge.

The fire has since been extinguished with no injuries and the cause of the fire was determined to be improper disposal of charcoal grill briquettes in a trash can.
