Miami-Dade County, Fla. -A caretaker in the southwest Miami-Dade faces serious accusations, after deputies say he has orchestrated a home invasion that led to $ 10,000 theft from a victim last year.

Deputies with the Miami-Dade sheriff’s office said that Yamilet Ravelo Ramentol, 48, was arrested on Monday following an investigation that linked it to January 2, 2024, in an apartment near block 17000 from Southwest 104th Street from the Hammocks neighborhood in the county.

The jail records show that they are facing a number of invasion robberies without firearm or weapon, conspiracy to commit the invasion robbery at home, battery on a 65 -year -old or greater person with assault or battery .

According to an arrest report, the victim, who is the daughter of the couple Ravelo Ramedol is responsible for care, was in her bedroom when two men dressed in black and wearing surgical masks entered the unlocked apartment.

After opening the door to the bedroom, the deputies said that one of the men prevented the victim on a chair, while the other passed through a drawer. Subsequently, the intruders grabbed a travel bag containing about $ 10,000 before running in a waiting vehicle, according to the report.

The authorities said that Ravelo Ramell worked as a caretaker for the victim’s elderly parents, offering him unattended access to the house. They said she was familiar with the appearance of the house, the location of valuable objects and the fact that the front door was often left unlocked.

The owner of the apartment, 75 years old, that he wants his money back after talking to Rosh Low Local 10.

“This was a nightmare,” she said. “I have a bruise. Everything is broken.”

The surveillance films in the apartment complex placed it on the spot shortly before the robbery. The deputies said the surveillance video showed that it arrived around 7:55, almost three hours earlier than he told the victim that he would be there.

Just six minutes after her arrival, the deputies said that a newer Mustang Mach-E without registration plate entered the complex. The investigators said that the vehicles are parked next to each other for more than an hour, at which point Ravelo Ramentol never left the car.

The additional surveillance video captured one of the masked suspects that climbed into her vehicle and stayed inside for three minutes before going to the victim’s apartment with the second suspect, the authorities said.

The detectives said they tied the rammetol of crime by the registrations of the mobile phone. A mandate of the cell site confirmed that her phone was near the victim’s apartment at the time of the robbery, which was in accordance with the surveillance materials, according to investigators.

Also, the authorities found that he was in contact with a “burner” phone prepaid both before and after the entrance.

The deputies said that a search warrant on the burning phone revealed that he was also present at the victim’s apartment during the robbery. Investigators believe that one of the masked suspects was using it.

The MDSO robbery office said that the detectives followed Ravero Ramedol in Doral and took it in arrest. The authorities said he had provided a statement, but was drafted in the publicly published report.

The victim told Local 10 News that Ravelo Ramentol worked for more than a year, even after the incident was reported.

The authorities have not yet identified the two men involved in the entrance.

Starting on Tuesday, Ravero Ramentol has been restrained to the Turner Guilford Knight correction center.
