Salma Rafique crossed Thorns Road, Quarry Bank, on September 29, 2023, around 8:00 pm, when it was mowed by Tyrone Moran.

The 19 -year -old was away from the scene, and his car was found abandoned shortly afterwards.

Later that evening, Moran surrendered in a local police station.

Moran was closed for six years and nine months to Wolverhampton Crown Court On Friday after he pleaded guilty to cause death through dangerous leadership.

Judge Michael Chamers KC sentenced him after a long legal hearing in Newton, who debated the circumstances of the accident, including traffic on the road at that time.

The 27 -year -old Salma went on a pedestrian crossing when she was hit.

Despite the best efforts of the paramedic, she died on the spot.

In a few hours, the flowers adorned the place of her tragic death.

Judge Chambers also forbade Moran, from Holcroft Road, Oldswinford, to drive for five years.

Thorns Road has been a black for speed and collapses for several years and has been the subject of a signature of 2,000 names that request traffic calming measures, including reintroducing speed cameras.

Stourbridge MP Cat Eccles asked for action. She said: “The safety measures on this portion of road are delayed. Incidents are an almost daily event along the route and I don’t want to see more lives lost.

“We ask the PCC mayor and West Midlands to work with Dudley Council and the Local Police to give priority to the medium -speed rooms of the entire A4036 and reduce the damage on Thorns Road. “
