Starting on Thursday, the Emergency Section of Halifax Infirmary will issue a transition to each visitor at the entrance, following a series of violent incidents last month.

As a result of that incident, more security was employed and a Metal Detector Walk-Thru was added to the site.

The wearing crossings will be issued on Thursday, Nova Scotia Health said, and the Security will record the moment of entry and departure of each visitor.

The crossings must remain visible at any time, the authority for health said, and the re-screening will be necessary for anyone who leaves the emergency section for any reason.
