Coralville – Spencer Lee was directly and honest.

He was apologized about how the match went than the result.

Lee fought his first match in the United States from last year’s Olympic Tests, faced with 2024 U20 and the Senior Masanosuke Ono -Event world champion in Flowrestling Night in American at Xtream Arena. In a match with a limited crime and score, Ono marked all the points in the third and held a 3-2 decision on the Hawkey’s silver Olympic medal medal.

“I think I put it on a little pedestal and I have to go out and fight a little longer,” Lee said. “I say more and that, because I apologize for such a boring end. Everyone is delighted for a big match, and I and I stay there and we don’t make a club a few times.

“Even though it was 3-2 with offense, shooting and scoring opportunities, I think I would be better with the way the match went. I think the match is so slow and that he receives the offensive more than me is what frustrates me the most. “

Lee competes at 125.5 kilograms (57 kilograms). Ono fought at 134.5 (61 kg). They compromised and weighed at 131 (59.5 kg).

“I like it,” Lee said. “I like to do this. It is easy, especially at a weight of capture. I woke up in weight in the last four days (and) 131 it is too easy to do.

“It was fine. I hope more of this will come. “

Ono’s points came before intermittent, forcing three outings. Lee pressed the action in the second period of three minutes, obtaining both points on precautions for passivity. Both seemed to fight with caution and conservative. It did not produce many attacks.

“It seems that when I fight these guys who play and they are very good at what I do, I don’t do much offense,” said Lee. “I have to find a way to reach my crime.

“I think I respected him too much. A lot of hype around him. Don’t put it down, in any way. He beat me. I will take the loss like a man. “

Lee did not surrender too much for points, but he thrives in matches that produce more scoring opportunities for both sides. They closed each other, gathered chances of offense. Something that Lee hopes is different if, or when they meet again.

“I hope that next time I and I fight, because I am sure we will fight again, it is more fun,” said Lee, who will prepare for the US. “I hope it is more interesting. I have a lot of respect for him. We hope he has a certain respect for me. I do not know if he does or not, considering how I fought, but I think he is a great guy. I’m glad he went out to fight. I’m glad it worked. “

While Lee’s offer appeared briefly, the former NCAA champion of Iowa, David Carr twice, recorded a signed victory. Carr makes 2024 The Daici Takatani Daici Silver Medal at 167.5 (76 kg). Takatani won a victory over the American Kyle Dake last summer in Paris.

Carr was unfounded. He marked two withdrawals and three sets of exposure points for a decision of 10-7. Carr said he worked on works, forged, moving his head to his advantage. The coaches worked with him in those areas, including the Jordan Burroughs Olympic champion.

“It’s one of my mentors,” Carr said. “Be able to work with him and other coaches, it is cool to use those things and work.”

The gain provides an impulse as the US Open is approaching. Carr said he can continue his progress and use it to improve the technique, but his faith is another key part of his development.

“It’s a good victory,” Carr said. “I must continue to build and put my faith in Jesus.”

Carr received support from a large crowd that was dominated by fans Iowa Hawkeye who cheered for Lee and others with state ties. He smiled when he said he was surprised by how many had cheered for him and gave him five talls. He acknowledged that they probably support any US fighter against another country.

“It’s very good to hear how hard it gets here,” Carr said. “This type of event is very fine for fights. I hope Flo can continue to do events like this.

“It is a blessing. It’s an excellent opportunity. I hope we can continue to do things like this, for sure. “

Carr and the former NCAA champion twice in the state of Arizona, Zahid Valencia, said he would have taken into account participation in an overseas tournament. This event offered an opportunity to stay closer to the house, to cope with a strong opponent and to avoid leaking on time, talent and treasure through extended trips.

“I would like to have more of these throughout the year, especially for fans,” said Valencia, who was initially expected to face the former NCAA Penn State champion, Aaron Brooks, but recorded a 5-0 victory over Trent Hidlay. “I love them. I have to compete and choose and choose my matches that people want to see. I think it’s good for fans to get more exposure to Freestyle fight. They really don’t get to look out of the US.

“I think it’s wonderful for the whole fight.”
