The man is convicted for Sanborn’s robbery, Ia Bank

Sioux City (Kiv) – a man who was guilty of robbing a bank in Sanborn, Iowa was sentenced to more than 15 years in federal prison.

The American prosecutor’s office says that Del Evans Jr., aged 41, acknowledged that he had plundered the Sanborn Savings Bank in January 2024. He was guilty of the bank’s robbery in September 2024 and on February 26, 2025, he was sentenced to 188 months of prison, just over 15.5 years. The federal system has no conditional freedom conditions, so Evans must execute the complete sentence.

According to prosecutors, On January 22, 2024, Evans entered Sanborn Savings Bank and handed Teller a note that requires money. After getting thousands of dollars in cash, he left the bank on foot.

He was arrested later that day at his house in Sanborn. Authorities say they identified Evans through security videos and set up a perimeter around his residence in Sanborn. When the law enforcement asked Evans to come, he was peacefully surrendered and was arrested.

Evans was just released two months earlier after executing a 15 -year sentence for a 2014 banking robbery in Illinois.

Once Evans executes his 15 -year sentence for Sanborn robbery, he is under probation for two years. He also has to reimburse the money he obtained during the robbery.
