Hamilton police say the desired man for a lot of robberies was arrested

A man was arrested after plundering 16 different businesses in the Greater Toronto and Hamilton area over a two -week period.

In a release on Thursday, the Hamilton police say that between February 8 and 25, officers from the Hamilton Police Service, Toronto Police Service, Guelph Police Service, Police Regional Service Halton and Niagara Regional Police Service have responded to sixteen incident.

Fourteen thefts took place at the financial institutions and two others took place at the retail stores.

The police say that in each robbery, a man alone displayed a knife, approached an employee and asked for cash. In some cases, the thief wore a mask to disguise his identity.

The release states that investigators from six police services have collaborated to identify and arrest the man.

As a result, Alan Haaksma, the 52 -year -old Oakville resident was arrested on Wednesday by Toronto Police and charged with 16 leaf charges with an offensive weapon, seven intentional disguises and two stolen property charges.
