The new draft law allows the government to make public the names of companies that use in bad way

The government of a cabinet meeting on Friday adopted a draft law that allows it to investigate companies, provide them with guidance and reveal, as the case may be, their names in cases of human rights and other malicious activities related to the use of artificial intelligence (AI).

The government hopes that the draft law, which aims to balance the development of AI and measures to meet the risks related to the new technology, will be adopted in the law during the usual session of the current Parliament.

It is expected that the legislation will “increase the effectiveness of the risk countermeasures, including through investigations in cases where the rights and interests of the people have been violated,” said the Minister of Scientific and Technological Policy, Minoru Kiuchi, for a press conference, while mentioning that the draft law does not include “excessive regulations”.
