A pedophile who sexually abused two young girls died in prison. Rodney Savage was sentenced to nine years in prison in 2023, after recognizing six charges of sexual abuse against two young girls.

The victims were between six and 10 years old when the abuse began, the crimes took place for a period from the mid -1980s until the early 2000s in the Carlisle area of Lancashire. Savage served in the police force between 1974 and 1987, after joining the British army.

He later drove a pub in Yorkshire. Following the sentence of Savage, the research officer, the Constanta detective Lisa Atkinson, praised the courage of the victims: “Both women were incredibly brave in reporting what happened to them and worth a huge loan.

“Our questions have discovered the extent of the abuse that Savage performed for a period that included almost two decades. When he was interviewed, Savage continuously denied that he had sexually abused these women when they were children.

“He has not shown any remorse for his crimes. I hope this conviction sends a clear message to the survivors of sexual abuse, we are here to investigate what happened and to bring justice to justice.” Lancs live.
