Two saved after the dog attack that killed the woman, 19

Two people arrested for the death of a 19 -year -old woman who was attacked by a dog from Bristol were released on bail, the police confirmed.

Officers from Avon and Somerset police were called to an incident inside a Cobhorn Drive apartment in the city’s Hartcliffe area at 7:19 pm on Wednesday.

The paramedics and police participated, but the young woman, who was attacked by a dog who is believed to be an XL bat, died on the spot.

A man and a woman, both 20 years old, were arrested under the suspicion that she was responsible for a dangerous dog under control, causing injury that led to death and holding a breed forbidden by the dog.

On Friday, a police spokesman confirmed that the two suspects were released on conditional bail.

In a press conference on Thursday, district Inspector Terry Murphy, Avon and Somerset police, said the dog involved in the attack was taken down.

The initial reports suggested that the dog, which was sedated and confiscated following the incident, can be a XL battle – but evaluations will be made to confirm their breed, the police said.

Mr. Murphy refused to comment on whether the woman who died lived at where the incident happened or if there was previous police contact with the household.

He said, “Our thoughts, first of all, are with the young family who died tragically as a result of the incident yesterday evening. Have been updated and will be supported by a family connection officer.

“I would also like to thank the officers and paramedies who participated yesterday night and tried to save their lives. Support is in effect for them.

“A complete investigation is now in the process of establishing the full circumstances of the events that led to her death.”

A neighbor, who lives close to the apartment where the attack took place, told the news agency that it is sure that the dog was an XL bat.

The woman, who did not want to be called, said she saw the dog on a lead with her owner.

“She mentioned that the dog was not great with men, well with women and children,” the woman said.

The neighbor described the comfort of the dog’s owner, who seemed to be in shock, following the incident.

“He couldn’t speak or say a word,” she added.

“It was as if it weren’t there because of the shock.

“I really feel that this was one of those strange accidents and it was not her fault – I feel.”
