A captain of the British army was closed after he raped and sexually assaulted a woman he met in a meeting application.

Calum MacGregor was convicted on January 30 following a trial in the High Court in Edinburgh.

The 30-year-old girl left the wounded victim attacking her at home in December 2021, shortly after she was on Hinge.

He tried to claim that any sexual contact was consensual, but was found guilty after three days of evidence.

On February 27, 2025, at the High Court of Edinburgh, MacGregor was sentenced to four years and six months in arrest.

His name was added to the register of sexual criminals endlessly.

Katrina Parkes, a fiscal prosecutor for sexual crimes of the High Court, said: “Calum MacGregor is a predatory person.

“This type of crime does not take place in Scotland, and the victim should be praised for her courage, which has led to this criminal prosecution and conviction.

“We admit that going to the court can be traumatic and therefore special measures can be implemented to make evidence easier.

“I would urge anyone to be affected by this type of crime not to suffer in silence, but to report their experience.

“You will be listened to and supported while trying to ensure justice using all the tools available for us.”
