The man accused after threatening with weapons leads to lock in tsigehtchic, nwt

A 65 -year -old man was arrested in Tsigehtchic, NWT, and accused of a single number of threats, after a threat related to weapons on Thursday triggered a blockage throughout the community, according to RCMP.

The police received a complaint that afterwards that a person has made threats to get a firearm and “download it around the city,” GRC said in a press release on Friday morning.

Hamlet issued a locking order, the police said, and the officers in the Fort McPherson detachment, NWT, have focused on the community, who does not have their own GRC detachment.

GRC said the suspect in the incident was found in his own house and established that he was probably not armed. They say they received a mandate to enter the house and arrested the individual without incident.

No firearm was found, the police said.

GRC says the man is expected to appear in the court in Fort McPherson in April.
