During the October meeting, Deputy Deputy Lawyer David Greenwald asked the court to bind Beaver on the more serious accusation of the first degree, but Judge Stacey Donovan initially refused. But after this hearing, Greenwald deposited two additional motions asking Donovan to reconsider. On February 19, he again asked the court and said that, if necessary, he could present additional evidence that he would indicate the premeditation. Specifically, he said he could present a video that was not played at the hearing in October, which he said would look like Beaver from Walker before returning again to pull him on Walker.

On Friday, Donovan said he considered Greenwald’s argument and reviewed the transcripts of the October 2024 hearing and found a probable cause to update Beaver’s accusation.

Beaver appeared by the new accusation, and the court took a brief recession, so he could consult his lawyers, Razmi Tahirkheli and Angela Trimble.

While Donovan granted Greenwald’s request to increase the accusation, she denied her request to strengthen the murder case with a separate theft case. In this case, Beaver is accused of five charges of using someone else’s credit card to shop at various shops in the city center, in the days that led to Walker’s death. Greenwald asked the court to allow him to try both cases at the same time, so he could show the Beaver jury surveillance records that buy Beaver’s clothes wearing at the time of the shot.

Donovan said that prosecutors could use supervisory materials and explain to the jury that Beaver had the clothes in question, but that the prosecutors could not tell the jury about the statements that they were purchased using a stolen credit card, because Beaver was not convicted in this case.

Donovan then scheduled Beaver’s trial in the case of a crime that will take place on July 21, 2025. Beaver is currently in arrest in prison in Douglas county, with an obligation of $ 1 million.
