What kind of reviews did you receive for Bobby Aur Rishi Ki Love Story?
The experience was both bored and overwhelming. Our audience, appreciated members of our fraternity, families, friends, health, loved ones and fans have made a lot of love and praise on our film and shows. They talked about chemistry, our shows, picturesque locations, music and, above all, the light and lively nature of the film, without a major conflict. Nowadays, people’s lives are stressful and sometimes prefers the content that is not too intense. In general, there are especially the love of the film, and the numbers I received from the OTT platform, surprised us. That, I’m sure, means that the movie is loved and appreciated, and the word mouth is very strong.
How did he work with the debutant Kaveri Kapur?
Working with Kaveri was a very warm and satisfying experience. We started as strangers, we organically built our connection, and today, we are the best of friends. She is a spontaneous actor who really trusts her intuition and I like this quality about it. He did not watch too many cinemas, which is why he brings such a fresh and vibrant perspective. It was a joy to work with and I can hardly wait to work with it again in the near future. Apart from being a truly good actor, he is also a wonderful composer and singer. Maybe that’s why she has such a great pace in her scenes.

Kaveri Kapur’s father, Shekhar KapurHe directed Mr. India, a film that presented your grandfather, amish pure, in one of his most iconic roles. Did this inherit make the work with Kaveri feel even more special or significant to you?
Yes, for sure. Shekhar sir is someone for whom I have great attention and respect. I shared a great connection with him – not when Mr. India was released because I was not born yet, but later when I became assistant director at Yash Raj Films. When he directed a movie there, I tested screen for him. He gave me great movie and career tips and used to play table tennis together. Even then, I remember talking about Kaveri, which I didn’t know at all at that time.
When I heard that Kaveri would be part of this movie, Serendipitous felt. What are the chances of Dadu’s nephew and Shekhar Sir’s daughter work together on a love story? Just before I met him, I knew he came from a wonderful pedigree, that he would be a culture person and a joy to work with. But after I worked with her, I realized it was ten times better than I ever expected. She is such a pure and wise soul.
With both families who have such a strong presence in the industry, do you think there is a certain connection or unrelated energy when working with Kaveri?
Yes, for sure. When I worked with Kaveri, I could see so many features of her father, Mr. Shekhar, in her and so many features of her mother, SUCHITRA KRISHNAMORORHI. Both our families come from movies and we share a strong inheritance in the cinema. Our families have a romance similar to the movies, so the connection with Kaveri was very easy. We were created with very similar values and moral compass. There was certainly a mutual admiration and much respect for each other and the mutual families.

Can you share some fun or interesting anecdotes from your shooting days?
I remember this truly funny incident on the first day of filming. We had to make a very difficult scene that involved a kiss. After we kissed ourselves for the first time, things became a little unfortunate between us for about two or three minutes. But then we talked about it and decided that it is part of the jobs, so we should not overturn or let it affect our performance. We reminded us that this is just work and we went on. Sir Kunal was laughing and said, “Welcome to the movies! Sometimes you have to do such things and then forget about them. “
Another funny incident happened with one of my co-workers who had to make a kissing scene. Just before taking, it became extremely nervous and simply could not be done. Mr. Kunal and I tried to comfort her, but he couldn’t do it. After all, Sir Kunal had to rewrite the entire scene. It was a painful silence on the set, but looking back, it was quite fun.
Kunal Kohli It has a distinct style in the story. How did you find to work under his leadership?
Kunal Sir is extremely collaborative, a great team player and a fantastic captain. He is very democratic and understands well the personalities of his actors, incorporating him into the scenario. He knows how to improve your strengths and cover your weaknesses, which is the most important quality for any director. He also makes you feel extremely beloved and I think the actors perform best when they know their director believes in them. It was very easy to align with his vision during the process of this film. What I like most about him is how approach he is – he has always had a solution to our problems. He understands the actors’ concerns beautifully, supports them through the trial and ensures that he offers his best performance.
