The man accused of a threat with a long -standing bomb at Muskegon Hospital has a history of similar acts

Muskegon, a 72-year-old man, accused of making false threats to a Muskegon hospital has a model of repeated behavior.

Patrick George Bassett was accused of a false report of a crime on Monday, March 3, at the Muskegon County District Court.

The only accusation of crime comes from alleged threats that Bassett made Friday evening, February 28, against Trinity Health Muskegon Hospital in East Sherman Boulevard.

The police say a man called around 8 pm and would have done a threat that several explosive devices were in the hospital.

The investigators searched the hospital and established that the threat is not credible. The police followed the call to a residence in Norton Shores and arrested Bassett on the spot.

Bassett has a history of making similar threats, the judicial documents shows.

He was sentenced to two years of federal imprisonment in 2012 for calling a bomb threat to a high school in New York.

Bassett, who threatened Michigan, stated that there is a bomb In the locker room. No bomb was found.

Most recently, Bassett was accused in 2022 with the report of a false threat with bombs and a number of offenses of malicious use of telecommunications at the Marquette District Court.

In this case, he called a hospital system system and said there was a bomb in the unit. The hospital came in lock for almost three hours while the authorities looked for. Nothing suspicious was found.

Bassett pleaded guilty of crimes, and the accusation of threat was rejected, the records show.

Bassett is about to appear again in a courtroom in Muskegon County, on March 11, for a probable hearing.
