The 3 -year -old dies after falling from cliff to river

Westchester County, NY (WCBS)-a community in New York mourns the accidental death of a 3-year-old in a river.

Zaire Alberick’s family said that his death is prevented.

At the place of his death, friends and strangers tied, holding his hand while offering a pillar of strength.

“There are no words, it’s just a feeling that we are all here,” said Emily Myers, a parent to another 3 -year -old.

The police in the village of Mamaroneck said it was on Thursday after lunch, when Zaire wandered two blocks at home, near North Barry and First Street.

The EMS crews pronounced him dead after they found him in the Mamaroneck River near the Hillside Avenue bridge.

“When she went to look at her, it was a ball there and she liked the balls. We think he wanted to recover the ball, “said Zaire’s aunt, Denise Barnes.

The police said that Zaire fell about 10 meters from a small rock in the river.

His family said that his death could have been prevented if there had been a protective barrier.

“The house is right there, it entered the river right,” Barnes said. “The fact that there is no fence is horrible.”

This tragedy makes many realize how quickly a life can be lost.
