The victims of Meadowbrook fires want help to return children to school, rebuilding

Family and friends gathered to delete the scraps one day after a devastating fire passed and destroyed three houses at Lot 8 Bamboo Drive, Meadowbrook Gardens Sunday night. As a result, about eighteen people were relocated, including eight children who could not attend school.

Stabroek News spoke to George Reid, 62 years old, the family patriarch, who explained that families intend to reconstruct soon and added that children are without supplies and school needs. Reid explained that they were accommodated at his daughter’s house on Sunday night. Families, said Reid, would be grateful for any assistance that will help to rebuild homes and facilitate the return of children to school as soon as possible. According to Reid, he also saved to the renovation of houses.
