No. 2 USC hopes to build the first conference title in 31 years in the Big Ten tournament

With their first regular season conference championships in 31 years in hand, Southern California will turn her attention to the Big Ten tournament.

The second ranked Trojans know that winning this champion will be difficult.

“The Big Ten tournament is three games in three days against the quality teams of the NCAA tournament,” said USC coach Lindsay Gottlieb, in a telephone interview on Monday. “So it will be a challenge and will not rest between games.”

USC enters the tournament that comes out of a victory over rival and fourth UCLA ranking Saturday who obtained the crown of the regular season.

“We hope we will reach a moment at the right time,” Gottlieb said. “We are in a wonderful place.”

The Trojans open play on Friday against the winner of the Oregon-Indiana competition.

The ten big, like the other three major conferences, have their tournaments this week.

No. 5 South Carolina won a Flip coin With Top Texas to get the seed no. 1 in the dry tournament, after the two teams finished equalized at the top of the standings. NC State is the top team in ACC with the number 6 Notre Dames the second seed. No. 8 TCU exceeded the number 17 Baylor on Sunday to win the Big 12 Crown and won the top seed in that tournament.

While all these teams are locks for the NCAA tournament this weekend is the last chance for some teams on the bubble to get quality earnings to help them.

Triple-dubble rarity

Players in Colombia, Kitty Henderson and Cecilia Collins, made an extremely rare phase last weekend, when the teammates each had a triple-tublu. Henderson had her against Brown on Friday, while Collins had less than 24 hours later against Yale.

It is only the second time that two different players from the same school had a double triple in the rear games, according to statistics performance. Jackson State made the phase in 2003. Colombia had a blow to stay alone in the disc books, if another player can do it on Saturday night, when Lions faces Cornell in their regular season final. A victory that day would also give Colombia his first Ivy League championship. Lions shared the title of the last two seasons.

It is only the second and third in school history. Henderson had 19 points, 12 recovery, 10 assistants, four thefts and one turnover. The only other player in the last 25 years to have the same state line in a game was her former teammate Kaitlyn Davis, who had the first double of Colombia.

Net ratings

Ncaa week Net rankings – One of the tools that the selection committee uses to determine the parenthesis of the NCAA tournament – it remained constant, the first 10 remaining the same. Uconn was the number 1 followed by South Carolina, Texas, Notre Dame and UCLA. Southern California, which is in second place in the survey this week, was the sixth.
