Yogi Adityanath reveals how Amawasya Mishap was managed

One month after the tragic stamp from Maha Kumbh in Praygraj, which led to the death of 30 people, Uttar Pradesh (UP), Chief Minister (CM), Yogi Adityanath, said on Monday (March 3) that his administration responded promptly.

He added in addition that they refrained from being widely advertised of the incident to avoid panic among the crores of the devotes present on the site, Indian Express reported.

Ever since Amawasya was started at 7:30 pm on January 28, the crowd swollen and the incident happened between 1 and 1.30 in the morning, “he said.

“There were a lot of 4 crore people, including devoted, present in the Maha Kumbh area, while a similar number of people were present in Praygraj City, moving to Maha Kumbh. Over 2 Lakh vehicles were parked in neighboring districts …, waiting to be allowed to reach Maha Kumbh. I did not allow the news of the stamp to be highlighted, because it could have caused panic in such a huge crowd. I managed the situation and the circumstances, ”said CM.

Underlining the challenge, Adityanath said that, along with a huge number of devotes, the Sadhus management from 13 Akharas, who often struggles for who would do the first dive, was the biggest task.

“The bathroom had to start at 4 in the morning and, despite the fingerprint, all Akharas were ready. But at 3 in the morning, I asked them to postpone their bathroom, because an incident was produced,” said CM. Meanwhile, officials have closely monitored the crowd and after the evacuation of the blood area until noon, the holy bath was resumed up to 2.30 PM.

Adityanath emphasized international involvement in Mahakumbh, which included representatives from over 100 countries. He mentioned that the central and state governments invested Rs 7,500 crores, with 6,000 lei RS specially allocated to improve the PrayGraj infrastructure and the surrounding areas.

“Those who came in faith were witnessing a deep expression of devotion, while others found opportunities for growth and prosperity,” CM said.
