The process of rape of three persons based in western Ireland collapses – The Irish Times

The trial of a woman, her brother and another man accused of sexually assaulted and raped her daughter collapsed at Central Criminal Court.

Mrs. Justice Melanie told the jury that “the developments during the trial have led to a conclusion that this process should be brought to a conclusion now and heard of a different jury at a different date.”

The judge told the jurors that he did not do this easy, referring to the impact he had on the applicant.

She added that the court has the obligation to ensure that there is a fair trial.

“I do not feel that this can be done on this occasion,” said Mrs. Justice Greally before downloading the jury.

The three accused have all addresses in the west of the country. Cannot be appointed for legal reasons.

The applicant’s mother pleaded that she was not guilty for 13 charges of sexual assault and is not guilty for a number of rape.

It is assumed that the mother has sexually assaulted the girl on nine occasions between 2000 and 2009 at the Family House, with an occasion between 2012 and 2014 and on three occasions during a family vacation in 2001.

The man pleaded not guilty for five allegations of rape and one of oral rape in the data between 2003 and 2012, all at the same address in western Ireland.

The court has heard that he is the applicant’s maternal uncle. A second man pleaded innocent for an oral rape number between 2008 and 2009, at the same address.

The jury heard that he was a friend of the woman’s partner accused since then.

The case was returned to the lists of the Central Criminal Court to set a new trial date.
