Former youth pastor of Fountain arrested for alleged sexual assault on a child

Fântâna – Fountain Police Department says they have arrested a former youth pastor for an alleged sexual aggression on a child in a trusted position.

Stephen Hutto, 45 was arrested on March 2, according to police. He was previously employed with the independent Baptist church in 2007-2010. Faces accusations about an alleged sexual relationship with a 15 -year -old girl.

The chronology of the alleged abuse is slightly unclear. Based on an arrest declaration obtained by News5, the incident was reported for years, the detective of the PD fountain, Tori Smith, locating the initial report made in 2023. This original report says that the reporting party learned about the incident three years before 2023 and that the real incident took place 15 years ago, which took place in 2008.

Based on the investigations, the arrest declaration states that the initial call to report abuse in 2023 was: “it was never transmitted to the corresponding unit for investigation.”

In an initial interview with detective Smith, Hutto was asked why the victim “will report a sexual relationship between the two”, to which he replied, “(the victim who was not named in the statement) was jealous of his family because she was blessed.”

At the time of his arrest, Hutto worked as a pastor at Highlands Baptist Church in Boone, Colorado. The Fountain Police Department is looking for any additional witnesses or victims who can have information about this case.

Hutto has been arrested on March 2 and since then it has been related to the Criminal Justice Center El Paso (CJC). He is facing an accusation of offense of sexual assault on a child by a person in a position of trust. He will be in court again on March 13, 2025. Hutto is innocent until he is guilty in a court.
