6 policemen attached to Khayelitsha detective service arrested for fraud

Cape Town – six police officers attached to the Khayelitsha detective service were arrested for fraud and the defeat of justice.

They are accused of fraudulently submitted financial applications for the travel allowance in the R16,000 tone.

It is assumed that the detectives, who have traveled in the east of the investigation between January and September 2022, will pay for accommodation and then request a greater amount, as paid.

The police say members would also share a room, but would request two separate receipts.

Western Cape Police spokesman FC Van Wyk says suspects will appear on Thursday at Khayelitsha magistrates.

“After a thorough investigation of the anti-corruption unit, the socket was presented to the director of public pursuit (DPP) who decided to accuse the members on 26 accusations of fraud and a defeat number of justice administration.”
