The third state witness will continue to testify

Saldanha Bay-Cel of the third witness of the state in the process of the disappearance of Joshlin Smith, six years old, began to testify in Western Cape High Court, located in the multifunctional center in Saldanha Bay.

Joshlin’s mother, Kelly Smith, Jacquen Appollis and Stevano Van Rhyn are accused of kidnapping and trafficking in the girl’s disappearance.

The commander of the police station in the Gulf of Saldanha, Colonel Lyndon Sebola, took the position on Wednesday to start his testimony.

Sebola, which will continue to testify on Thursday, told the court that he had set up a search party and a common operational center at the police station, one day after Joshlin disappeared in February 2024.

The spokesman of the National Purchase Authority (NPA), Eric Ntabazalila, told some of the testimony of Sebola.

“Then, the next day, they went out with the search party and started at the house where the child disappeared. They had the dog unit and were also helped by about 200 people in the community.”
