At least 15 injured while the South -Corean jet “accidentally” throws the bomb near Seoul – World

Seoul, March 6 /Tass /. At least 15 people were injured in an accidental release of bombs from the KF-16 Jets in South Korea over Pocheon, northeast Seoul, during training, Yonhap news agency reported.

The bomb incident took place outside a burning range near the North -Korean border, where a common US and South -Korean exercise was performed. About 160 vehicles and fighter aircraft, including tanks, fighter jets and helicopters, participated in the maneuvers. Previous reports said eight MK-82 bombs were abandoned, and later the news agency clarified that two KF-16 fighters threw four bombs each.

Seven buildings including a church were damaged in the city. While the news agency initially said that seven people were injured, later updated the number at 15, saying that two strangers and two soldiers were among the injured. Ten people were hospitalized, two of which were seriously injured.

Bomb experts arrived on the spot to delete the unexploded order. Local inhabitants were advised to evacuate during the operation. The South Corean Air Force expressed regret because it caused civil damages and injuries and said he would be prepared to provide compensation.

According to Yonhap, this marks the first such incident in the Republic of Korea, since a F-5B fighter has misddder a training bomb on 2004, causing wounds.
